When Perkins and Will’s client decided to upgrade its Birmingham HQ to align with its new way of working, the firm took the decision to stay and improve rather than move to a new location. This meant constant communication with staff was key. Workshops were held throughout the project to ensure each member of staff was involved and contributed to their new workspace.
Collaboration, idea sharing and a sense of community now thrive. A move away from a hierarchical environment has removed barriers between partners and staff. A mix of formal and casual spaces allow people to decide how and where they work. Light timber screens break up the space, creating a feeling that’s both intimate and open. Designed to support growth and resilience, the new space is built to adapt as our clients' presence in Birmingham grows, acting as a flexible blueprint for the firm’s next generation of office spaces.
